Under pressure from regulators, the four major French banks, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole and Natixis, had announced at the end of last year their intentions to downsize. They target a reduction of wing of about 11% in their fundraising and investment, is the closure of more than 2,000 positions in the Hexagon. Of voluntary severance schemes were launched a few weeks ago and was completed by the end of 2013.

At Societe Generale, where the starting conditions were particularly well-negotiated – one month's salary per semester of service, limited to 300,000 euros – the plan has attracted a few days hundreds of employees in support functions and back- Office. Employees, tired of four years of deep crisis, jumped at the opportunity to realize their dreams of conversion and leave the defense.

Within the next few months, they will come through the ranks dozens of teachers, restaurateurs, psychotherapists, traders … very distant horizons of finance, that all may not completely reach. The wickets were in fact closed this week, leaving 500 candidates on the floor, some of which had disclosed their intentions to their superiors. "The group has committed blunder on blunder, by changing the rules along the way, criticizes Michel Marchet of the CGT. Some employees are committed financially in projects or third organized the departure of their family abroad before learning they will not receive the original plan. "

Departures targeted agricultural credit

These problems do not arise for employees in the front office, disadvantaged by the plan, and more attached to their positions cash advance today. Earlier this week, the bank was still seeking 150 voluntary departure. The BNP Paribas employees share the same caution. The bank wants to offload 373 jobs in France, also in his division of finance and investment, but has not yet reached that goal. "Initial conditions are less favorable than Societe Generale, the bank has so far rather difficult to fulfill its objectives," said Luc Mathieu, general secretary CFDT banks insurance. The bank does not report figures for France, but claims to have performed at the end of March more than 60% adjustments of its workforce worldwide.

Side of Credit Agricole, the plan is only open for two weeks. Different modalities: the green bank has targeted positions it would like to delete. No departure is compelled, and the group offers to individuals about the possibilities of internal redeployment.

"For now, employees are in no hurry to start, Didier Mas, CFDT delegate at Credit Agricole CIB. The difficulties arise from relationships with regional banks. The pay gap between the funds and CA IPC reclassifications make very difficult, cases do not always take the same salary to employees. "

The miracle did not happen. Ten days after the general election on May 6, the president decided to throw in the towel. Having failed to find a coalition government supported by the required minimum of 151 MPs – the Greek Parliament has 300 seats – Karolos Papoulias said on Tuesday afternoon he summoned another general election. These should take place Sunday, June 10 or June 17

Tuesday, two hours, he had organized a meeting of last resort to which he invited leaders of major political parties. From left to right: MM. Tsipras (Syriza, mélenchonniste front type), Kouvelis (Democratic Left), Venizelos (PASOK, Socialist Party), Samaras (New Democracy, ND, center right), Kamenos (party of "Independents" nationalist right). Only the leaders of two parties represented in Parliament elected were not invited: the KKE (Communist) and Golden Dawn (neofascist). The idea of the president was to make them accept a government of technocrats. Two hours later, these politicians came out in ranks disordered, without a word to reporters who rushed upon them.

Only Kamenos, burly man as his bodyguards, his face closed, let go: "We have not managed to agree. New meeting here tomorrow at 13 hours. " The bone of contention was always the same: the famous "Memorandum" of fiscal and structural reforms that the troika (IMF, ECB, EU) has imposed on Greece in exchange for subsidized loans that have been granted (some 240 billion euros in all, releasable in installments, depending on progress made). PASOK and ND, who had accepted the terms of the MOU earlier this year, reiterated that the country should stick to it. All other parties campaigned to reject it; they still refuse. But the last election gave only 149 seats in total to both parties, who alternately ruled Greece since the fall of the colonels' regime in 1974.

Fifteen minutes later, the press fell Presidency announcing the calling of new elections. From this point, the Constitution explicitly sets the course. The senior judge in the highest rank temporarily assume the office of prime minister. 13 hours of the meeting on May 16 at the Presidency is intended solely to ratification by the political forces the appointment of three ministers directly concerned with the transitional electoral process: those of the Interior, Justice and spokesman. The current ministers remain in place to manage daily affairs. Within parties advocating that Greece honor its signature to avoid exclusion from the euro area, negotiations have already begun to form a front that can win the required majority in Parliament. The various small liberal parties are solicited. In combination, they accounted for 7% of votes in the last election. But none of them crossed the threshold of 3% due to enter Parliament.

Privatization stopped

This return to the electoral circus seizes Greece at the worst time. The government no longer has enough money to ensure the transfer of salaries and pensions of public sector June. Privatizations are stopped; bank recapitalization behind; the recession deepens (6.5% fall in GDP for the first quarter alone). The banks are not lending because large savers withdrew their deposits. 50% of youth are unemployed. The economy is collapsing.

"Ultimately, it is perhaps a good thing. We run to the drachma and a purge that will last twenty years. Greece has behaved like a spoiled child, thief, megalomaniac. The solution: the board with a strict diet! "Commented Karolos Gikas. The fifty sports, speaking good English, the businessman lives in Athens but does its business outside the country – currently it exports to Turkey of U.S. technology. "Our political demagoguery, our banks can not, our economy mafia, all this could not last forever. It is time for the Greeks to return to zero, to finally get back on sound footing! ", He added, with a resigned smile, and almost relieved.

The clouds are gathering over India. The unexpected decline of 3.5% of industrial production in March, whereas it had increased by 4.1% in February and 9.4% in March 2011, is particularly threatening. Although the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) noted "positive signals stronger" in the country, signs of a serious slowdown of the Indian economy is growing.

The manufacturing sector declined 4.4%, while it was up 11% in March of last year. The new car sales, which increased from 19% in April 2011, rose only 3.4% for the same month this year. Customers prefer to postpone purchases because in borrowing costs and rising oil prices. It is also true that the government, taking advantage of the market, with 2.02 million vehicles sold in 2011-2012, is one of the largest in the world, decided to taxes immediately reflected by the manufacturers on purchase price. And that in this country stronger than 1.2 billion people, only 12 Indians own a car in 1000.

As for oil, whose imports represent 80% of gross consumption and increased by 47% in 2011-2012, it is not only a burden to the consumer. This is a bone of contention with the United States. In early May, the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has asked the country to reduce its purchases from Iran through sanctions against the country's nuclear policy. But India said it had already reduced "significantly" and that Tehran remained a "major source". In fact, it depends on Iranian crude for 12% of its imports.

Opaque tax policy

To stimulate growth, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the central bank has reduced interest rates in April for the first time in three years. But between March 2010 and October 2011, she had increased thirteen times to curb inflation, close to 10%. Today, the price increase fell around 7%, but is still higher than 5% to 6% desired by the monetary authorities. It "remains a risk and a challenge," Judge HSBC. Like currency, the rupiah, which flirts with its lowest level against the dollar. Last week, to stem its decline, the RBI has mandated that all holders of foreign currency into rupees convert half of their assets held in banks before the end of the month.

In this climate, foreigners increasingly reluctant to invest. They denounce the country's opaque tax policy. The government has just announced its intention to amend the tax system that wants to impose on foreign companies. In December he was back on a reform to open the retail sector to foreigners. Today, it has still not decided on equity, still banned, foreign airlines in domestic companies, while the latter lost $ 1.9 billion last year. And, best of all, India is in the list of the thirteen countries placed on the blacklist of the United States regarding counterfeiting, piracy and industrial property.

The meeting between the heads of three major Greek political parties (PASOK, New Democracy and Syrisa) and President Karolos Poupalias, which began mid-morning today, ended shortly after noon. No decision was taken. "Consultations are continuing" simply said the Conservative leader Antonis Samaras.

Optimism does not really seem appropriate. The Socialist leader, Evangelos Venizelos, said that "discussions are at an impasse. I shall, however, cautious optimism. " For its part the Conservative leader, Antonis Samaras, assured that Syriza had again refused to attend, and even to support a coalition government, although it pledged to "renegotiate" the agreement with creditors the country, EU and IMF, which required a severe austerity. "I made every effort to achieve global cooperation," he told reporters online payday advance.

Hours before the meeting, the leader of the Democratic Left, meanwhile, said, have "little hope", asking that the country is "pulling" of draconian austerity plan imposed by donors, European Union and the International Monetary Fund. PASOK and ND are in favor of European assistance plans, while Syrisa rejects the austerity imposed on Greece by its creditors.

The talks should continue Sunday afternoon between President Karolos Papoulias and small parties in parliament after general elections on May 6 .. If no agreement is reached before Thursday, new elections should be organized, raising the possibility of bankruptcy of the country or leave the euro.

Danger on the job at domicile. For the first time since the creation of economic and social sector that weighs 6 billion euros of gross payroll and employs 1.4 million people, the number of individual employers, employees and hours worked declined since 2010 .

The decline is not impressive – it varies according to the indicators provided by the Federation of private employers (FEPEM), between 0.2 and 1.4% a year – but the trend is worrisome.

Created by Martine Aubry

And it is perhaps just the beginning. Francois Hollande announced a severe weight loss of the niche at home jobs (called kennel "nanny"), which allows families who salarient someone at home (childcare, cleaning …) greatly reduce their taxable income. If passed, households can not deduct more than 10,000 euros (12,000 against, 1,500 more per child or maximum 15,000 euros today) and the rebate will increase from 50% to 45% of wages paid. "It comes back twenty years" critical Levaux Marie-Beatrice, the president of the FEPEM, who recalls that this niche has been created by … Martine Aubry solvabiliser jobs for a rapidly growing sector. "Stop playing with yo-yo this niche that has created hundreds of thousands of jobs and planing which has a dramatic psychological effect on employers, who are already anticipating its abolition." ……. .

If Francois Hollande therefore applies its plan, the immediate risk is the automatic disappearance of tens of thousands of jobs. "Employers have already reduced by 3% the number of hours worked for two years and will continue, warns Marie-Beatrice Levaux. Either they disappear, or they will switch in the informal economy. "

In short, some of the hours worked will be paid "black", condemning tens of thousands of employees to live outside the law.

"Is it worth it to play with a sector that weighs as much?" Asks the president of the federation, ready to make specific commitments on jobs. At least if Francois Hollande restored in return for reduced charges for employers and undertakes not to touch the niche at home jobs for five years. Marie-Béatrice Levaux awaits the response of the elected president

.

Concerned, the crisis, which sharply reduced the family budget with employees at home, but also the removal of 1 January 2011 the reduction of 15 points employer contribution. This measure, enacted by François Fillon to save money, resulted, according to FEPEM, the removal of 13,000 full-time equivalent jobs. In total, the positions being part-time, the complete disappearance of tens of thousands of jobs!

Private radio stations do not know how to convince the government to postpone the launch of terrestrial digital radio (DAB) in France. Wednesday, during a press conference, the four major national networks – RTL (RTL, RTL2, Fun Radio), NRJ Group (NRJ, Chérie FM, Nostalgie, Rire & Chansons), Lagardère Active (Europe 1 , Virgin Radio, RFM) and NextRadioTV (RMC, BFM Business) – have their own involvement in the balance. It is "likely" they do not participate in new call for applications that will launch the Higher Audiovisual Council (CSA) for 20 cities, they have announced.

"This is proof that we are not against the protectionism or fear by RNT new entrants?" Said Michel Cacouault, President of the Office of the radio, the trade association that unites these four networks. But, potentially, the refusal of private radio stations to participate in the national launch of NTR could affect the attractiveness of digital media for consumers. These could then be reluctant to equip themselves with radios that capture the RNT. And face a hearing insufficient, the project requested by the independent radio, the associative group and supported by the public service Radio France would be nipped in the bud.

Old worries

Intent which denies to the time the Bureau of Radio, who wishes to voice its concerns mainly "on the merits." They are mostly economic payday advance lender. "Radio France and the community radio stations are in favor of TNR if paid by public finance", has seen Christopher Baldelli, CEO of RTL Wednesday. Private radio stations believe they, the RNT their "cost several hundred million euros over ten years," while moving from not knowing how many radios would be launched with the RNT.

Through the voices of their bosses – Christopher Baldelli, Alain Weill, Denis Olivennes, John Paul Baudecroux – the four private networks reiterated old concerns: what is the vision of CSA? What will the radio landscape of NTR? Why launch a service that has not been proven in other countries?

After denouncing the timing chosen by the CSA to move forward on the issue ("A shift in power between the two rounds of presidential elections"), the Office of the radio has in turn benefited from the post-presidential to challenge the new government . The latter is invited to give their "opinion on the project and its financing."

But, perhaps anxious to give as tokens, the Office of the radio says it is a "non-conditional participation".

Thursday morning they will strike to support their boss threatened with dismissal. They, are the 560 employees Sogal, SME sector development within the region of Angers. Unusual fact, the steering committee and staff come together to support the CEO, Pascal Legros, opposite the main shareholder of the company: the investment fund Qualium.

Recall the context: April 23, Pascal Legros receives a summons for revocation of post from Marc Auberger, director Qualium. The letter raises two arguments: a cost overrun of the work of the new headquarters of the company and the non-timeliness of financial disclosures. Legros Pascal is responsible for managing capital Sogal.

Within the executive committee, the surprise was total. "A few months ago, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the company without any problem of this type has been discussed," says Vincent Pastori, director of marketing and communication. Immediately, the ten members of the steering committee make the decision to provide support to Pascal Legros, stationed at Sogal since 2009. They post a letter of objection to the attention of Qualium.

A meeting scheduled for tomorrow

Wednesday morning, employees of The Site Jumelière spontaneously came together to organize a show of support and solidarity with the CEO. This will take place on Thursday, just as Pascal Legros will be received in the Paris offices of Qualium no fax cash advances. It will not go alone to the meeting. Several members of the steering committee will be present at his side. "This seems unjustified dismissal. The reasons given were minor compared to ongoing projects in the company and especially given the positive results it appears, "protested the director of marketing and communication. Members of the steering committee will aim to understand the reasons for such cancellation announcement and try to tip the balance in favor of their boss. And especially since the decision to call Pascal Legros was not taken in consultation with the second largest shareholder – UI Management, holder of 11% of shares.

This is not the first time that workers Sogal express their support for their direction. In 2009 already, they were momentarily initially opposed the former President of the Management Board, before finally rallying to the decision of shareholders. At the time, "the context was different," said still the director of marketing and communications today. The Executive Committee then considered justified the dismissal of the predecessor of Pascal Legros.
